House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi rebuked the Trump administration on Tuesday for deporting a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals(DACA) recipient in February, calling it the “terrorizing” of patriotic young people.

“The Trump Administration is terrorizing patriotic young people who want nothing more than to live, work and contribute to the country they love – the only home they’ve ever known. These outstanding young men and women are American in every way but on paper,” Pelosi said in a statement released Tuesday evening.

She was specifically referencing the case of Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez, 23 who is claiming Border Patrol did not provide a legal explanation for deporting him to Mexico.

A USA TODAY story, published Tuesday morning, about the incident, claimed that Bojorquez  was a DACA recipient, otherwise known as Dreamers, and that federal agents ignored President Trump’s pledge to protect from deportation undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children by sending the young man back to his native Mexico.

Bojorquez was twice granted deportation protections under the DACA program created by President Barack Obama and left intact by President Trump. However, something the USA TODAY story left out, is that the DHS said that Bojorquez had his DACA status removed because he had illegally gone back and forth across the border, something which would result in the termination of the provision to not be deported.

Nancy Pelosi also decided to leave that tidbit out as she pandered to people’s emotions.

The San Francisco Democrat lambasted the White House for not honoring a program created under former President Barack Obama in 2012, saying ,

“Another promise cruelly broken by President Trump, this one with heartbreaking consequences for brave young DREAMers across the nation.  Instead of honoring the protections of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals initiative, President Trump has unleashed an indiscriminate deportation dragnet of appalling inhumanity.

The truth is that as of right now, no one can confirm that the DHS officials, who have claimed that Bojorquez no longer enjoyed DACA status due to his violation of the terms, are lying, unless Pelosi is suggesting they are.

The more likely probability is that Pelosi saw a political opportunity given her by the tearjerker story released by USA TODAY, and rather than wait to hear from DHS on why Bojorquez she went out to score political points and wrongly accuse the Trump administration of breaking his promise to not deport those who qualified for non-deportation under the provisions of DACA.
