Poor Hillary, Dead Broke!
Hillary Clinton: “We Came Out Of The White House Dead Broke”
DIANE SAWYER, ABC NEWS: It has been reported you’ve made $5 million making speeches, the president’s made more than $100 million.
HILLARY CLINTON: Well, if you — you have no reason to remember, but we came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy. Bill has worked really hard and it’s been amazing to me. He’s worked very hard, first of all, we had to pay off all our debts which was, you know, we had to make double the money because of obviously taxes, and pay you have at debts, and get us houses and take care of family members.
SAWYER: But do you think Americans will understand five times the median income in this country for one speech?
CLINTON: Well, let me put it this way, I thought making speeches for money was a much better thing than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.
Hillary is trying to appeal to the Democrat base, you know “The Poor and the Disadvantaged” trying to relate to the “working poor”.
“We understand what that struggle is because we had student debts — both of us — we had to pay off, we had to work, I had a couple jobs in law school, he had lots of jobs,” Mrs. Clinton told ABC. “We have a life experience clearly different in very dramatic ways from every American, but we also have gone through a lot of the same challenges as many people have.”
On Monday night, to ABC News, she said: “We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education. You know, it was not easy.”
Her speaking fees sometimes hit the $200,000 level, while Bill Clinton routinely pockets $500,000 per 45-minute pep talk.
Mrs. Clinton then recalled how her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had been born into poverty and had to work hard for his money and career advancements. Poor Hillary, her need for “dramatic exaggeration” and lies is catching up again.
Sen. Hillary Clinton gave an account of our arrival in Bosnia during a speech last Monday at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., saying she remembers “landing under sniper fire” and that conditions on the ground were too dangerous for a planned arrival ceremony.
“There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport,” Clinton said. “But instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”
Update: In a conference call with reporters this afternoon, Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson answered questions about Clinton’s assertions, allowing that it is possible she “misspoke.”
Maybe she just “misspoke” again, I don’t know. Maybe after the past 6 years of wealth envy, class warfare trumpeting the public hatred of those “evil rich capitalists” there is just a need to pretend they relate to the “ordinary American”
Ms. Clinton argues that because of their financial straits, she understands what it means for ordinary Americans to struggle to make ends meet. But Republicans have leapt on this comment as a means to try to portray her as out of touch.
True, they were in the red when the gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue shut behind them. However, Mr. Clinton was in line to receive an annual $200,000 pension as an ex-president. Ms. Clinton had been elected to the US Senate from New York.
Paul pointed to Hillary Clinton’s $8 million book deal that she signed before the pair left the White House–as well as reports of the couples net worth of over $100 million.
“The sad song of her reporting her personal financial difficulties and the fact that she hasn’t driven herself in a car in 17 years, it doesn’t sound like she’s going to connect with a lot of the Middle Class,” she said.

I think we need to take back the term(s) Liberal and Liberalism from the usurpers. We need to wade strongly into their midst, identify ourselves as Liberals (the rightful masters of such a philosophy), identify their absolute and deliberate FRAUD and force them to come up with a term more fitting of their philosophy (my suggestion is Progressive Socialist). Then we must start dictating to them the terms of their capitulation and let them devote their time to the defense of an immoral system they've almost succeeded in pawning off on the American people. It's time we drove the debate/discourse and narrative in America once again, and let them react for a change ... I'm frankly sick of it! They've systematically destroyed the intent of the Founding Fathers over the course of about 1 1/2 centuries of infiltration into every aspect of American life, turned our LIBERTIES into living by government's leave, and the public disease of entitlement and class/wealth envy, and institutionalized racism ... and this must end.
