Doug Ducey Raises Over $1 Million in First Quarter in Bid for AZ Governor
The battle for the Republican nominee in Arizona’s governor race has a clear frontrunner: Doug Ducey.
The Yellow Sheet is reporting that the current State Treasurer and former Chairman of the No on Prop 204 campaign raised a whopping $1,050,000 for his gubernatorial campaign in 2013, and currently has $923,000 on hand. More importantly, none of that money came out of the former Coldstone Creamery CEO’s pocket.
More importantly, the Arizona Capitol Times is reporting that 80% of the 1,000 or so contributors gave less than $1,000. Arizona recently reinstated the new contribution limits which provide for $2,000 for an individual and $4,000 for a couple in a statewide race. This leaves a great deal of capacity for Ducey to go back to his fundraising network and raise additional cash from existing donors. 40% reportedly gave less than $500.
