Daily Kos Discovers Article V Initiatives, Immediately Calls for Smear Campaign

PrintAs the saying goes, if you’re taking flack, you must be over the target.

The hard-Left website Daily Kos has just discovered the Article V initiatives. These initiatives, which include Compact for America and Convention of States, would use the Constitution’s Article V state-legislature-driven process to amend the US Constitution.

Details are available here, here, and here. Examples of candidate amendments appear in Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendmentsincluding term-limits and balanced-budget amendments.

If successful, these initiatives could reverse the transfer of power to Washington’s politicians and bureaucrats and return it to the states and We the People.

CFAThe Left would hate that. They love big, centralized, all-powerful government. They’ll oppose Article V initiatives with all their might.

Daily Kos is a long-established gathering point for the Left’s neo-Marxists, statists, collectivists, socialists, communists, and other Big Government aficionados. Most are avid followers of Saul Alinksy, author of Rules for Radicals. One of his Alinsky’s key rules is [emphasis added]:

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

DailyKOSSo it’s no surprise that the Daily Kos response is not to engage Article V supporters on principles or ideas but instead to go after the leaders personally. Here is text from a December 7, 2013, missive to Daily Kos followers [emphasis added].

We need to make people aware of this [Article V] threat to democracy and preemptively discredit those pushing it, before it picks up more steam.

I’m sure the leaders of the Article V initiatives are being ‘researched’ as I type these words. But the Left won’t stop with those leaders.

At least one pioneer of the Article V movement has begun calling its supporters “Fivers” for short. Watch the Left try to demonize “Fivers” as bad people rather than engage them on their principles. With their cohorts in the Leftist-servile media, they’ll try to make “Fiver” an epithet.  The Left is nothing if not consistent.

If you want to join We the People on the right side of this fight, I recommend Chapter One of the Levin book, available here for free. Learn what Article V is about and see why the Founders and Framers wrote it into our Constitution for times like ours.

See also the COS and CFA websites, and consider roles you might play in the struggle against Big Government.

From the excerp of the Daily KOS it would seem that statists prefer a democracy, or in other words mob rule. Fivers by definition prefer the republicanism that protects liberty and inalienable rights that presumably are not protected by a democracy.

    1. dleeper47 says:

Exactly right. I don’t read much Daily Kos material, but they never refer to the US as a ‘republic’, which is what it is designed to be. Republics look after the rights of minorities far better than ‘democracies’.

When the Left is in the minority, they are obsessed with minority rights. When they are in the majority, there are no minority rights.

      1. rofomoreno says:

dleeper47sspdavidmiller The Leftists have mastered the art of effectively applying Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”, keeping Republicans always on their heels. What is keeping the Right from a more effective campaign of “Counter-Rules”?

          Decency, perhaps?
