Video: Ted Cruz Says Obamacare Can’t Be Fixed

Posted: November 14, 2013 at 7:45 am   /   by

The air on Capitol Hill is thick with bipartisan remedies to fix  parts of Obamacare, but Texas Senator Ted Cruz says it won’t work.

Appearing on Fox News only hours after the Obama administration released dismal enrollment figures, Cruz said bills to fix parts of Obamacare amount to nothing more than “tinkering around the edges” and avoid the pragmatic step of overhauling the health care law altogether.

Cruz said it was “heartbreaking” to see so many Americans hurt by Obamacare. These include the millions of Americans who have lost their individual health insurance policies, he said,  plus the millions more who will lose insurance provided by their employers.

Cruz said there is only one choice. Repeal Obamacare and start over. He said he shortly would propose a two-step approach – suspend Obamacare completely and then seek positive reform that would empower consumers through a national health care market.

Only weeks ago Cruz stood with a handful of his Republican Senate colleagues in an effort to stop Obamacare. He sounded the alarm when few would listen. Now the failure of Obamacare is out in the open for all to see. Perhaps now Washington will follow his advice.
