Video: Chilling Testimony on Fed Govt. Abuses — Nick Dranias, Goldwater Institute

nick draniasNick Dranias holds the Clarence J. and Katherine P. Duncan Chair for Constitutional Government and is Director of the Joseph and Dorothy Donnelly Moller Center for Constitutional Government at the Goldwater Institute.

On August 22, 2013, he testified at a Congressional Field Hearing on IRS and EPA abuse. Dick Durbin, Assistant Majority Leader in the US Senate, sent an intimidating letter to the Goldwater Institute that is reminiscent of the “McCarthy era”. To see the letter, as well as Goldwater’s official response, click here.

Furthermore, Dranius testified, the IRS has obstructed his efforts to establish tax-exempt status for Compact for America. The Compact organization seeks to force federal balanced budgets through a state-driven Constitution amendment process. That initiative is getting new attention following the publication of Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendments book on August 13 (see article at this link).

Present at the hearing were Representatives Trent Franks, Paul Gosar, Matt Salmon and David Schweikert. All four Congressmen showed outrage and incredulity at Durbin’s behavior as well as the IRS delays. Dranius called on the four to help “fight” the IRS.

“It’s beginning,” says Dranius. Besides intimidating grassroots groups like those in the Tea Party movement, Big Government in Washington is now making its move on intellectual leadership groups like the Goldwater Institute.

The 9-minute video below contains Dranius’ testimony and the Congressmen’s response.

As regards the numerous congressional committees and the seeking of facts to the “Phony Scandals”. This history in the making that is taking place before our eyes, in every aspect, in it’s fullness, is in fact the rightfully dissenting American citizen in the just and lawful defensive act of  “Stand Your Ground” against an aggressor whose sole intent is to place individuals into vulnerable,  harmful or lethal circumstance with diminished protections (and yes, with power delegated to them, I do believe it is within their nature to see it through).

I thank God that I am able to participate in (the metaphorical “punch in the nose”) and witness these times of fearless Americans standing determined and steadfast against this blatant malevolence that unmistakably defines the character of the Liberal-Progressive tyrant.

    1. rofomoreno The Sleeper Has Awoken.

  2. sleepergirl says:

There was much ado about these “field hearings” in front of our 4 congressmen.  I wonder what actions or steps any or all of the collaborating will take to help the grassroots fight this new tyranny.
Good luck getting the attention of either of our holier than thou senators.  Both are lost to us.

    1. sleepergirl Is Sarah Palin going to run in AZ when McCain’s term is up?

    2. sleepergirl says:

I have no idea.  Her residency (property ownership) in AZ has been kept very quiet.  I would more expect her to consider a challenge to Mark Begich.  She’s has talked a little about this with Greta, but no decision going forward.

      1. sleepergirl Yeah, AK would make more sense. I am just hoping that McCain’s replacement will be on the job soon.

    3. NeilFeuer says:

      Good luck is right!
I feel like we should shoot for the moon and only let stand up officials that are bold enough and will not go with the flow to get along, but get our questions and problems on the table first. That is their job in actuality! They didn’t even have a town hall meeting which I know we all wanted desperately. That says a lot about where they stand, and it shows there ignorance, after all, we elect them! Change is needed!
To represent our needs, like Matt Salmon.
Shane Krauser and Nick Dranius come across as a few good men to me!

  3. NeilFeuer says:

Previously I wrote that I walked out of this discussion half what thru, it was all hog except for Matt Salmon. I missed Shane Krauser, and for the second time, I also missed Nick Dranius and again, Matt Salmon! Never again will I leave a discussion like this with men like Krauser, Dranius or Salmon. They were all exceptional they all hit the mark on what is wrong with our government, and they had answers and are willing to make the tough decisions and I would proudly stand with them. A lesson well learnt!
I wouldn’t give Dick Durbin a minute of my time, he represents everything wrong in our government. For him to have the audacity to question who what and where is like the McCarhy era and is mimicking the IRS questionnaires and their policy. They have no right to ask a free America these type of questions in any manner to form!
As Dranious remarked about his answer to his son being bullied, “punch him in the nose”, I couldn’t give a better example if I were asked these type of questions from. Dick Durbin and company.
Like Ted Cruz’s father said at his last Town Hall Meeting the other day in Delaware, ” they can take our fortunes and property, but they can’t take away our HONOR, and that is my position!
We must stand our ground with the with our conservative values regardless of the consequences, and we must back up those officials like Cruz, Paul, Lee, Palin that are bold enough to lead the way.
And we must get more elected officials like Matt Salmon, no more go along and get along, this is the time we must stand on our HONOR, it is survival!

    1. NeilFeuer Durbin is a thug. He deserves nothing but contempt.

  4. NeilFeuer says:

To rofomoreno, thx for the support and just to verify me, I will not compromise on my beliefs, my honor or my word!
In the end, the only thing man builds in his life is his own credibility!
