Capacity Crowd at Rep. Gosar’s Congressional Hearing on IRS and EPA Abuse
Bureaucrats have been bullying Arizonans and the People punched back
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) joined by Congressmen Matt Salmon (AZ-05), David Schweikert (AZ-06) and Trent Franks (AZ-08) hosted a congressional field hearing on I.R.S. abuse and E.P.A. overreach yesterday. More than 550 people were in attendance to hear witnesses offer testimony on the EPA’s burdensome regulations, the impact a closure of the Navajo Generating Station would have on Arizona and political targeting by the IRS.
The hearing lasted nearly six hours, during which time compelling testimony was delivered. Following the hearing, Rep. Gosar said:
“Activist bureaucrats in the federal government, from the EPA to the IRS, have been bullying Arizonans for too long and yesterday, the people punched back. Coming together as a community to listen to one another and gather information armed us with the necessary knowledge to take action, as best we can, to rectify the wrongs and stop the bureaucrats in D.C. from going outside the laws.”
Rep. Gosar continued, “I would like to thank everyone who attended and extend a special thank you to those who shared how our federal government’s decisions are negatively impacting everyone here in Arizona. By stopping these egregious actions and working together, our government can again be ‘of the people, by the people and for the people.’”
