Will the House Defund Obamacare? Or Surrender Yet Again?

Boehner1“We’re only one-half of one-third of the government.”

That’s one of John Boehner’s favorite bromides for failing to use the House’s 100%-power-of-the-purse to defund and kill Obamacare.  While there may have been room for some doubt in the past, it’s now clear to everyone (okay, not Nancy Pelosi) that Obamacare is one giant white elephant that will never work.

In just weeks, Boehner and the GOP will have yet another chance to stand up to Big Government’s ruinous spending and debt accumulation.  Will Boehner stand tall this time and lead the defunding of Obamacare?

Of course we can all count on the Obama regime to threaten seniors, veterans, policemen, firemen, children, and even Washington tourists if the GOP-led House shaves off even one dime from Obamacare, let alone defund it entirely.  Naturally, Obama won’t even hint at the savings we could realize by cutting back on any of his 479 federal agencies that fill those monstrous Washington buildings bulging with bureaucrats.  And the press will ignore that option as well, just as they always do.

In the video below, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) clearly and compellingly outlines the upcoming test of GOP nerve on the defunding of the Obamacare abomination.  As he points out, this will be the first big budget battle since Romney lost. So there’s no longer the excuse of an upcoming presidential election to “protect.”  Now it’s time to stand tall and protect our country, our children, and our grandchildren from debt bondage.

So what’s it going to be, Mr. Speaker?  If you pull the plug on the Obamacare monstrosity, you will surely be vilified by the Left and their lap-dog media.  But consider all those 19-year-old farm boys from your (and my) home state of Ohio who get up every morning in the heat of Afghanistan, strap on body armor, and step boldly into harm’s way for their country.  I, for one, could never hope to stand in their company.  But you could.  They risk their very lives for us.  Will you risk your political career for us?

This gold ring keeps slipping out of the GOP fingers.  They don't seem to have the heart, the will, or the courage to just "get 'er done!"  This oh so small one half of one third of the government controls the awesome power of the purse.  Why won't they use it?

@sleepergirl Not enough of them have the fortitude and the strength that comes from deeply held ideological convictions. But we do have more like that now than we did before (Cruz, Lee, Paul, Cotton, Gowdy, etc.) We have to send them allies in 2014 and slowly take over the party. it's the only way.
