In absolute dollars, we are spending twice what we were during the 90s. Are we to believe that somehow, in the 90s, the federal government was dangerously underfunded? No! We’ve gone spend-crazy in the last 20 years. Saying we don’t have a spending problem is either disingenuous or a sign of complete mental incapacity.
