Instead of more taxes, how about we eliminate vacant federal properties?
Today’s wasteful government project is brought to you by the Federal Real Property Council (FRPC). In “An Overview of the U.S. Federal Government’s Real Property Assets,” the FRPC highlights several properties owned by the United States government that are either not in use or underutilized, costing taxpayers $1.7 billion in 2010 alone.
At a time when the government continues to waste billions of dollars on unused buildings, it makes no sense for anyone in Washington to be talking about raising taxes. It’s time for the President and Senate Democrats to get serious about our spending problem and find ways to eliminate waste before they push more taxes on the American people.

But you are all for continuing full bore with wasteful defense spending, such as the almost $400 billion F-35 jet, the most expensive weapons system in US history, right?

Likephoenixlaw There is waste to cut at the DoD, but it isn't defense spending that is going to destroy the U.S. economy, or even non-defense discretionary spending (as wasteful as that can be too). It is mandatory spending that is going to kill us.
