It is amazing that people who really, by all rights, should hardly even be taken seriously on an intellectual level, are able to reach such heights of power. It made mare sense back when we lived under monarchy, but really—we have elections now, for goodness’ sake.

No wonder Hugh Hewitt calls him “Slow Joe Biden”:

Biden always sounds like the too-loud guy in a restaurant sitting at a distant table who wants the whole place to hear his “brilliance.”  He is truly the billboard of his own buffoonery.

Obama chose him because at the time of the choice, Obama was taking heat for having no (none, zip, zero) foreign affairs experience.  Biden filled the bill, having been drinking coffee on the foreign relations committee for years, and he was one of the few senators that Obama knew who was dumb enough make him appear intelligent by comparison.  The press immediately hailed Obama’s choice of Biden as “phenomenal” — really — I remember that word being used.  That foretold the next 4 fours of the media’s slavish devotion to their neo-Marxist master — their 1960’s dream come true.

    2. @Econ101 Yes, if not for that slavish devotion, and for the media’s abandonment of even the remotest sense of journalistic integrity, Obama probably wouldn’t have been elected the first time and certainly would not have been reelected. As far as Biden being called “phenomenal” by the media . . . well, that tells you all you need to know. Talk about self-evident truths—Biden being a lightweight and a buffoon surely is one.
