Professor calls for global warming “deniers” to be executed
He believes “the death penalty is barbaric, racist, expensive, and is often applied by mistake.” He believes that “Even mass murderers should not be executed.”
But if you do not believe in anthropogenic global warming . . . off with your head!
I have often said that the ideology of the left, including, as it does, every murderous utopian statism from Mao’s to Stalin’s to Hitler’s, is the worst ideology ever devised by man. Its record ranges from failure at best to democide at worst.
I have also found it striking that in spite of its flowery utopian pretenses, this ideology appears to attract a lot of rotten people. There are bad people in every ideology, of course, but the left tends to raise bad people to positions of power and influence, whereas the right generally seeks to weed them out. There is no district in the country, for example, from which Republicans would ever continually reelect someone as corrupt as Charles Rangel.
But then there is the much more prevalent phenomenon whereby adherence to the ideology of the left takes normal people and warps them, making them worse over time. The reason for this is actually quite simple: utopianism.
If they are trying to create paradise on earth and you stand in their way—because you do not believe such a thing is possible or you resist the individual liberty-crushing means needed to attempt such an end—then you are standing in the way of paradise. Only a monster would stand in the way of paradise. Monsters do not deserve to be treated with respect or decency. The results range from simple rudeness to physical assault to swatting to democide.
The dark side of the left’s utopianism is their tendency towards manufactured eschatology. Their secular world is always on the brink of destruction from natural forces, just as many religious people await some sort of end-of-days judgment or apocalypse. For someone with such an attitude, the tendency to regard people who “stand in the way” of their “solutions” as dangerous is just as powerful as someone focused on the utopia they believe they can create. For such people, the death penalty for disagreement eventually becomes a logical choice, something that can be justified on a university website.
This guy isn’t an aberration; he is carrying his ideology to its logical conclusion—the same conclusion that was reached 100 million times in the 20th century.
Worst. Ideology. Ever.
