We are posting this in our entertainment section, but it raises a serious subject: the tragedy of the commons.

There is a reason why public toilets are often so nasty: No one owns them. No one has an incentive to treat them well. It’s the same reason why no one has an incentive to graze their cattle carefully on common land.
