Free to Choose Part 4: From Cradle to Grave

Posted: January 1, 2013 at 5:00 pm   /   by

In this installment, Milton Friedman explores the welfare state and its devastating effects on both personal lives and national economies.

It is hard to watch the tragic stories of the people featured in this video and not become angry at what has been done to them by government and others, in spite of the good intentions with which it was done.

Arguably most chilling in this video, and the others in the series, is the prescience of Friedman and the points he is making. Done in the late 70s, these videos explore the root causes of many problems that are coming to a head today.
