Gosar well ahead of Gould in fundraising for CD-4
From Today’s News-Herald:
Gosar, who served as a dentist for at least 25 years, brought in more than $182,200 in contributions between April 1 and June 30, the reporting period for the July 15 quarterly report. He received contributions from various individuals including fellow dentists, attorneys, business owners and farmers.
The Republican from Florence received several $2,500 individual contributions. Several of those larger contributions came from out of state individuals.
Gosar spent funds on airfare, events, petitions, consulting work and advertisements.
Former Lake Havasu City Councilman Gould brought in more than $72,900 in individual contributions during the reporting period. His donations came from retired individuals, attorneys and business leaders.
In spite of recent way-out-of-context attacks by outside groups, Gosar is a solid representative who has done well for Arizona and had a strong record of achievement, especially for a first-termer. His advantage in funding reflects, in part, an understanding of that by Arizona voters and donors.
Ardently devoted to the cause of human freedom, he has worked at the confluence of politics, activism, and public policy for more than a decade. He co-wrote a ten-part series of video shorts on economics, and has film credits as a researcher on 11 political documentaries, including Citizens United's notorious film on Hillary Clinton that became the subject of a landmark Supreme Court decision. He is the founder of several activist endeavors, including AnyStreet.org (now a part of Western Free Press) and Liberatchik.com. He is currently the managing editor of and principal contributor to WesternFreePress.com.
