All presidential candidates make promises. Once elected, they cannot keep them all, and some do a better job than others.
But has there every been a president who promised so much, and who delivered so little? Obama’s soaring rhetoric convinced the majority of Americans to give him a chance. We have reaped the reward.
In 2008, President Obama said he measures progress by how many people can find a job. Today, the unemployment rate is still over eight percent and nearly twenty-three million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or have stopped looking for work.
